Presenters
Joellen Killion is a senior advisor to Learning Forward and a sought-after speaker and facilitator who is an expert in linking professional learning and student learning. She has extensive experience in planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality, standards-based professional learning at the school, system, and state/provincial levels. She is the author of many books including Assessing Impact, Coaching Matters, Taking the Lead, and The Feedback Process. Her latest evaluation articles for The Learning Professional are “7 reasons to evaluate professional learning” and “Is your professional learning working? 8 steps to find out.”
Kenya Pitts Elder supports the professional learning of leaders, teachers, and instructional coaches. As a leader, she serves as a resource to the district's organizational development and technology integration initiatives. She designs and delivers professional learning sessions at both the school and district levels, state conferences, and enjoys being a consultant for the Highlands Ability Battery (HAB). Elder is a proud member of the Learning Forward Academy class of 2020 (Tenacious Troopers) and is passionate about serving educators and championing student success.
Andrea Gautney is a math instructional coach for Clear Springs High School in Clear Creek Independent School District (CCISD). Over the last fifteen years, Gautney has been a classroom teacher, has supported hundreds of secondary teachers in both California and Texas, and is a 5-year veteran facilitator for the New Coaches Academy in CCISD. She partners with teachers and teams to provide support and to build capacity in all facets of the classroom: deep mathematical content knowledge, technology integration, social and emotional learning, cultivating rapport, and professional growth. Gautney serves as a Learning Forward Consultant, leading learning through Coaching Academies, Mentor Teacher Cohorts, and Content-Based Coaching Cohorts.
