The power of coaching
Presenters: Jen Lara, Wanda Mangum and Crystal Stinson
Coaching is one of the most powerful learning designs to change educator practice and improve student outcomes. This webinar will feature educators in a range of roles who use coaching skills to foster autonomy, efficacy, and growth for other educators. Get practical strategies and tools to harness the power of coaching to sustain learning, bolster collaboration and collaborative organizational cultures, and engender equity among educators, and hear how coaches deepen their own professional expertise through being coached themselves and by coaching others.
Presenters
Jen Lara is a professor of education, lead coach, and co-creator of Anne Arundel Community College’s (AACC) Engagement Coach Training Program – the only community college-based, ICF-accredited, Level 2 coach training program in the U.S. Lara is an ICF Professional Certified Coach and taught K-12 students in Colorado, on the Navajo Nation, in Ecuador, and in inner-city Baltimore.
Wanda Mangum has served students, teachers, and parents in Georgia for over 30 years as a K-5 special education teacher, K-7 reading specialist, Reading Recovery teacher, and K-12 District Language Arts Instructional Coach for Gwinnett County Public Schools. She currently supports district leaders, teacher leaders, and instructional coaches as a consultant for Learning Forward, and is active with Learning Forward Georgia.
Crystal Stinson serves as assistant principal at Dickinson High School in Dickinson, Texas. She previously served as an Aspiring Campus Coach Mentor in Pasadena ISD, and as an instructional coach in Pasadena ISD and Clear Creek ISD. Her work supports the growth and learning of new, veteran, and aspiring coaches.
