This webinar will share strategies for prioritizing and dedicating time to educator learning, making the most of the time you have, and ensuring learning time is well spent. Presenters will draw on articles from the August issue of The Learning Professional and from the workbook Establishing Time for Professional Learning.     Participants will: Discover strategies for establishing professional learning time during the school day; Explore the role of school leaders in prioritizing professional learning for all; Learn how to address barriers and challenges to meaningful collaborative professional learning; and Learn why and how to conduct a time

    Rafaela Espinal (rye2101@tc.edu) is assistant superintendent and director of multilingual/English learners for Manhattan (Districts 1-6 and high schools) at the New York City Department of Education, an adjunct professor at City College, CUNY, and a coach for Summer Principals Academy at Teachers College, Columbia University. She was formerly the superintendent of Community School District 12 in the Bronx, New York. She is the author of the article “Superintendents can boost principals’ learning” in the August 2023 issue of The Learning Professional.

    Christine Langrehr is the principal of George D. Lisby Elementary at Hillsdale in Harford County, Maryland. She has served as a school-based administrator, in both Title 1 and non-Title 1 schools for more than 17 years and has experience presenting at the system, state, and national level. Her school’s approach to prioritizing professional learning time is described in the workbook Establishing Time for Professional Learning. She is a former adjunct teacher at Stevenson University in Baltimore, Maryland.
