Board of Trustees
Updated 1/20/24
Letter from the Board Chair
As a member of Learning Forward, you are part of a community committed to advancing the association’s vision: “Every educator engages in exemplary professional learning so every student excels.” This vision, established by the Board of Trustees, reflects the organization’s enduring commitment to educator effectiveness and student success.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the strategic and fiduciary oversight of the association. Operating within a governance policy framework, the board establishes direction, ensures alignment with mission and strategic priorities, and upholds its duties of care, loyalty, and obedience. Trustees also serve as ambassadors for the organization, advancing policies and practices that support high-quality professional learning. The board delegates operational authority for achieving established goals to the chief executive officer.
Individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to professional learning, continuous improvement, and effective governance are encouraged to consider candidacy for the Board of Trustees. Prospective candidates are invited to review the materials provided within these pages to better understand the responsibilities and expectations of board service, and to assess their readiness to contribute to the organization’s governance and strategic leadership.
We appreciate your continued engagement and support of Learning Forward.
Sincerely,
Denise Augustine
