Collaborative coaching transforms school leadership

Imagine a world where every principal feels empowered, supported, and equipped to lead their school to new heights. In reality, today’s school leaders are often stretched thin, juggling increasingly complex challenges with limited resources. This situation is exacerbated by veteran administrators leaving the profession, leaving less experienced principals and assistant principals to lead schools without substantial support.  To address the evolving needs of our school leaders, we must reimagine traditional professional development and provide tailored professional learning experiences. By aligning these experiences with both individual educator needs and broader district goals, we can foster a culture of continuous improvement. At Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) in Florida, the Leadership Development department, under the office of the Chief of Schools, created a customized experience for OCPS

Amanda DiMarzo has over 13 years of experience in education, including roles as a mathematics teacher, program specialist, assistant principal at both middle and high school levels, and senior administrator in leadership development at the district level. With more than 8 years as an administrator in Orange County Public Schools, she brings a deep commitment to cultivating leadership and supporting school communities. Amanda is passionate about partnering with students, staff, and families to create environments where every learner can thrive.

Dr. Rachel Menta is a Senior Administrator for Leadership Development in Orange County Public Schools, where she designs and facilitates district-wide professional learning and executive coaching for school leaders. With over a decade of experience in education, she has served at both school and district levels, championing mentorship, instructional leadership, and strategic development initiatives. Her career includes roles as a high school English teacher, instructional literacy coach, assistant principal, and AP Capstone Research Table Leader for the College Board. Dr. Menta’s work centers on cultivating collaborative learning cultures and empowering educators to lead with clarity, equity, and impact.
