Leadership Team Institute Information Session

Paul Fleming serves as chief learning officer at Learning Forward. His current areas of focus include leading the effective implementation of the Standards for Professional Learning and corresponding tools, the expansion of our professional services and leadership and learning series teams, and multiple consulting projects with states and districts to increase educator and leader effectiveness through student-focused, high quality professional learning.

Chelsea Collins, the 2016 New Jersey State Teacher of the Year, is a senior consultant for Learning Forward and a founding partner of both ConnectED Workforce and Knowtion, a virtual professional learning community with trusted content and collaborative opportunities for educators. At Learning Forward, Chelsea manages the Leadership Team Institute, where she coaches two leadership teams and supports district leaders in providing high-quality feedback to educators. At ConnectED Workforce, Chelsea leads the Related Technical Instruction Fellowship for the New Jersey Tutoring Corps’ Tutor Apprenticeship Program, leads JerseyCAN's education advocacy fellowships for New Jersey teachers and parents, and consults and presents for the New Jersey Principals & Supervisors Association’s NJ Leadership Academy. Chelsea also co-chairs New Jersey’s Council of State Teachers of the Year and serves on the board of trustees for Rekindle Education, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening student math outcomes in New Jersey.

Daniel Reyes-Guerra (dreyes@fau.edu) is associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology, program coordinator in the School Leaders Program, and project director and primary investigator of the Principal Preparation Initiative at Florida Atlantic University.

Jody Spiro (jodyspiro50@gmail.com) is a professor and author in education leadership and systems change and a senior advisor to Learning Forward.

Mikel Royal is a Senior Education Leadership Consultant with over 25 years of experience in education, 12 of those years have been spent studying and contributing to education reform by designing and effectively implementing evidence-based tools, practices, and polices to develop, select, support, and retain highly effective principals. Royal is passionate about school leadership and believes deeply in the impact a successful leader has on all aspects of our educational system.
