    A mantra for facilitators: ‘Feedback is my friend’

    In 2024, I will celebrate my 20th year as an educator. I am grateful for my winding path, from alternatively certified teacher to professional learning facilitator to organizational leader. As my roles have changed and educational trends have come and gone, I have learned that professional learning can be a constant companion on the journey. Professional learning can sustain us, even when the work feels uncertain, as it often does. It can also open new career pathways when we’re ready for the next step. But for professional learning to fulfill those promises, facilitators need to be well-prepared and steeped in best practices. They need to be grounded in adult learning theory and Standards for Professional Learning, skilled at helping educators engage in reflective practice and
