97% OF AMERICANS CALL FOR SOLVING TEACHER SHORTAGES  American adults reported continued loss of confidence in the nation’s public schools but strong support for a slate of education priorities, according to the 57th annual PDK Poll of the Public’s Attitudes Toward the Public Schools. Among the highest education priorities are school safety (99%); student belonging (98%); career and technical education programs (97%); addressing teacher shortages (97%); and improving teacher pay (92%). Poll respondent scores for the nation’s public schools have been dropping since 2017.
