Marlon Williams
Principal
Marlon Williams is presently the principal of Dr. Daniel Hale Williams School of the Arts Middle School 180 and the former interim acting principal at The Globe School. In his role as principal, he collaborates with families, school leaders, and community members, in building a safe, trusting school culture that supports the learning of students. He has embraced his role as an equity warrior working each day to shift the mindset of his learning community. Williams has been an educator for almost twenty years and is passionate about engaging every child through the arts. He first entered the classroom in Harlem New York as a college student at St. John’s University. There he was introduced to the wonders of teaching and assisting in the social and emotional growth of youth. This experience sparked a life-long passion for teaching and learning that has allowed him to serve in schools from Far Rockaway Queens to the Bronx New York. He has served children and families as a teacher, a counselor, a dean, an assistant principal, and now proudly leads his school community. For the majority of his career, he has worked in middle schools, while serving virtually every student population, including at risk, general education, and gifted students.
