    Teaching is one of the most stressful professions (Gallup, 2014), with nearly half of teachers reporting high levels of stress as a daily problem (Harper, 2020). The global pandemic has only added more stress on educators and, for many of them, stress has turned into burnout (Goodwin, 2019). Many educators experience compassion fatigue, or secondary traumatic stress, the depletion of energy spent caring for hurting individuals (Johnson, 2020), particularly during times of crisis like the ones we are facing today. When educators are under stress and lack energy, instructing students becomes much more challenging (Johnson, 2020). That is why it is essential that educators focus on their own social and emotional learning (SEL) before caring for their students. SEL and self-care do not always get
