Today the Learning Forward Board of Trustees shared the following statement upon the retirement of Denise Glyn Borders:

It is with deep gratitude for her service that the Learning Forward Board of Trustees has accepted notice from Dr. Denise Glyn Borders that she will be retiring from her position as President | CEO on June 30, 2022 to attend to personal health concerns.

Dr. Borders has been an invaluable addition to the Learning Forward team. Despite facing an unprecedented global pandemic after only six months on the job, Denise has led the Learning Forward team to excel under ever-shifting circumstances. Learning Forward immediately transitioned to virtual platforms and fulfilled its contracts, acquired both governmental and national foundation funding, and added talented staff members to expand product and services delivery. The Board acknowledges that all of this took a phenomenal team effort, and that Denise’s extensive experience and steady leadership served Learning Forward well during these difficult challenges. We feel very fortunate to have had her lead Learning Forward for the last three years, and we wish her only the best. We fully accept that her health and family come first and congratulate her on this well-deserved retirement.

The Board will move forward with the important responsibility of executive succession and transition so that Learning Forward continues to thrive and does not lose its momentum. The Board has developed a process and timeline to select the next Learning Forward CEO by July 1, 2022.  We will share details with the Learning Forward stakeholder community as we proceed. Please direct any questions on the transition to Board Administrator Joel Reynolds (joel.reynolds@learningforward.org).

We sincerely thank Dr. Denise Borders and the amazing staff of Learning Forward for their exemplary level of service and commitment to success.
