Learning Forward Foundation welcomes new officers

The Learning Forward Foundation, which raises funds for scholarships and grants that support professional learning, is pleased to welcome new officers as of January 1, 2026. Ankhe Bradley is the chair and Lia Gervino is chair-elect. Amy Colton now serves as past chair.

Bradley is assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction at Joliet Public Schools District 86 in Illinois and a graduate of the Learning Forward Academy. Over the course of her career, she has successfully guided districtwide initiatives including the development of curriculum frameworks aligned to state standards, the expansion of professional learning systems for teachers and administrators, the integration of research-based instructional practices, and the implementation of early literacy instruction. 

Gervino’s teaching career spans all grade levels and encompasses a broad spectrum of curricular areas, including core academic subjects, information and communication technology, second language instruction, and student services. In her role as staff officer with the Manitoba Teachers’ Society, she played a part in advancing educator development throughout Manitoba and across Canada. Her contributions include leadership in various initiatives and programs, including the Women in Leadership series. Her education includes two post-baccalaureate diplomas and a Master of Education with a concentration in counseling, leadership, and special education, and she is a graduate of the Learning Forward Academy.
