To make professional learning a priority, make it meaningful

There isn’t enough time to do everything a teacher, instructional coach, or administrator needs to do on a daily basis. This is one of the main reasons why professional learning often feels like a chore. It seems like an extra weight thrown on top of all the other responsibilities and roles we have to worry about. In working with schools, institutions, non-profits, and large companies across the U.S., I frequently see that professional learning takes a backseat — not because educators don’t care about it, but because of the myriad other things on our plates.
