Course: Key Roles for Instructional Coaches

Clearly defined roles for instructional coaches is critical to ensure both school and district coaches’ work focuses on improved instructional practice and increasing student learning. “Key Roles for Coaches” is a 15-hour, three-week online course that will explore practical and powerful roles for instructional coaches responsible for helping teachers increase their capacity to serve all students. Facilitated by expert Learning Forward coaches Heather Clifton and Andy Mendelsberg, the course will include tools that support deep exploration and implementation of the roles of coaches, developing partnership agreements with teachers and leaders, and a deep dive into the essential coach roles of data coach and classroom supporter.
