
Michael Hinojosa
Dr. Michael Hinojosa served more than 27 years as a superintendent/CEO of six public education systems, including two of the 25largest school systems in America, Dallas ISD in Texas and the Cobb County School District in suburban Atlanta, Georgia. In 2019, D Magazine named Dr. Hinojosa the “Best Public Official” in Dallas. The Council of the Great City Schools awarded him the Green-Garner Award, the highest honor in urban education, as the 2020 Urban Educator of the Year. In 2024, the Carnegie Corporation named him as one of a selected number of Great Americans, Great Immigrants as featured in the New York Times on July 4. Most recently Corwin published Dr. Hinojosa first book entitled Superintendent-Wise, Lessons for Leading Your District. In early 2025, the Public Broadcasting System PBS released Dallas a five episode series in which one features him prominently. Dr. Hinojosa now serves as the Superintendent-in-Residence for the Council of the Great City Schools and the Texas Urban Coincil.
