Join Learning Forward for a two-day event June 11-12 that will help you level up your presentation and facilitation skills with professional learning leader and communicative intelligence expert Kendall Zoller. Whether you’re moving into a new role as a professional learning presenter and facilitator, or want to strengthen the skills that help you form deep connections and help ensure that learning leads to change, this symposium supports front-facing adult learning leaders by providing tools and strategies that ensure professional learning leads to change in practice and increased results for all students.
Symposium Overview
This symposium will provide learning that goes well beyond presenting content, helping you communicate more effectively in meetings where you are delivering or participating in professional learning. Participants will examine seven essential communication abilities presented in Zoller’s new book, The Choreography of Presenting (2nd ed.), helping you develop and practice strategies that help build credibility, foster group rapport, actively demonstrate listening, frame your responses effectively, and recover with grace when things don’t go as planned.
Participants in this event will:
- Explore seven essential communication abilities that enhance your skills as a presenter;
- Practice communication and facilitation skills in a safe space with like-minded colleagues;
- Learn to spark meaningful communication with colleagues and audience members; and
- Discover how to refine communication patterns for elevated influence and effectiveness.
Facilitators:

Kendall Zoller is an expert in communicative intelligence, presentation and facilitation skills, storytelling, leadership, coaching, and adaptive schools. His work has taken him to 25 countries in person and 70 countries virtually, and hundreds of schools and districts globally. He is the author of The Choreography of Presenting: The 7 Essential Abilities of Effective Presenters (2024) and three other books, along with dozens of book chapters and articles. Zoller is president of Sierra Training Associates and an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
