Academy Class of 2025 coaches
Beth Brockman
Beth Brockman is a graduate of the University of North Texas (masters and doctorate degrees) and Baylor University (undergraduate). She has served Texas public schools as a middle school and high school teacher, assistant principal, middle school principal, district leader for professional learning. Most recently she served as an assistant superintendent for employee services leading the district professional learning and human resources work. She graduated the Learning Forward Academy in 2012 and served as on the conference host committee for 2014 and 2018. She served on the board of the Texas Learning Forward affiliate as well. Her current work includes university teaching and collaboration with individuals and districts on the topics of human resources and leadership development.
Crystal Cooper
Dr. Crystal Cooper is currently serving as the principal for Starling Elementary School in Gwinnett County Public Schools, outside of Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate of William Paterson University with a major in Elementary Education and African-Caribbean Studies. She went on to major in Educational Leadership at the University of Georgia. She completed her Specialist degree at the University of West Georgia and graduated with her doctoral degree from the University of Georgia in 2018. While completing, Crystal was able to also graduate from The Class of 2018 Academy Class. She has been a consultant teacher with The Center for Responsive Schools since 2000 where she provides social emotional learning coaching and support to teachers around the globe. She joins Learning Forward as an academy coach with a wealth of knowledge ranging from classroom teacher for grades 1-4, literacy coach, EIP teacher, assistant principal and social emotional learning and culturally responsive teaching consultant. Her talent and passion for educator professional learning have led her to serve on the Learning Forward Foundation and as a facilitator for professional learning on several topics, including leadership. She has also shared her expertise on numerous occasions as a regional, state, and national presenter for several organizations. She enjoys traveling, fashion, music, theater and family.
Academy Class of 2024 coaches
Ashley Helm
Ashley is currently serving as executive director of PK-12 Academics in a small rural district in North Texas. As we work through the Academy learning I will also be managing my own change and problem of practice as I have been in my new role for less than a month! I have worn a lot of different hats over the years from varsity cheerleading coach to content coordinator, director of professional learning and most recently supervising all secondary curriculum for Plano ISD.
Nadira Singh
Nadira Singh currently serves as a professional learning and coaching coordinator for Gwinnett County Public Schools. Previous to this role, Nadira has served as a middle/high school science teacher, local school science coach, and district instructional coach. This is her 21 year in education and is passionate about the implementation and transfer of professional learning by leveraging coaching as the vehicle to build the capacity of all educators, ultimately reaching their maximum potential to support each and every student.
