Learning & Inquiry in PLCs
We have entered a new era in education. While the pandemic highlighted significant challenges, it also sparked rapid adaptations to promising models and practices that deserve greater study and replication. Schools and districts learned how remote, hybrid, and blended learning environments can accelerate and broaden the impact of effective professional learning -- they now need to be supported to build on that learning in returning to schools.
School districts have an opportunity and a responsibility to rethink and reinvent the ways they prioritize and facilitate collaboration to ensure equitable access to professional learning. To support districts eager to innovate, redesign professional learning communities in a way that builds on lessons learned and opportunities found during the pandemic.
Participating teams will utilize the research-based strategies of collaborative inquiry and continuous improvement to make progress toward their goals for educator and student learning. In this facilitated network, each team will have a dedicated coach and multifaceted support grounded in the Standards for Professional Learning and equity-centered improvement theory and practices.
Benefits of network membership include the following:
- Regular, intensive, face-to-face, and virtual convenings for collaborative learning, planning, and professional development.
- Cycles of inquiry within teams.
- Critical friends conversations between teams.
- Virtual team coaching sessions.
- Opportunities for facilitated peer-to-peer learning between teams, across the larger group, and with the networked community.
ESSER funds through the American Rescue Plan Act can support participation in this network.
