Advocate for Title II before the 4th!

Title II-A needs your support! With the House Appropriations Committee announcing a July 7th mark-up of its FY21 education spending bill, it is urgent that Learning Forward stakeholders contact their Senators and Representatives about the importance of Title II-A between now and July 3rd. Please let your Senators and US Representatives know two things:

  • Title II-A funding, particularly its use in supporting professional learning for remote education, is critical in your schools and districts
  • Title II-A needs at least a $500 million increase over last year’s funding levels to endure that educators are prepared if and when they must transition their in-class lessons to online learning in the next school year.

ACTIONS (Please do ALL of the following):

  • Call your Senators’ and Representative’s office and ask them to support increasing Title II-A funding by $500 million in the final 2021 Appropriations Bill. (Sample call script can be found here.)
  • Email your Senators’ and Representative’s office and ask them to support increasing Title II-A funding by $500 million in the final 2021 Appropriations Bill. (Sample email can be found here.)
  • Tweet at your Senators’ and Representative’s office and ask them to support increasing Title II-A funding by $500 million in the final 2021 Appropriations Bill. (Sample tweets can be found here.)
  • Join the Learning Forward A-Team.

Please contact Melinda George, Learning Forward’s Director of Policy & Partnerships, with any questions and to let us know which actions you have taken. Melinda can be reached at Melinda.george@learningforward.org. Thank you!
